Goose Island 312 Block Party

At first I went to the wrong Goose Island building. But it was OK - the right place was only 1.6 miles away...

Sonido Gallo Negro were super fun. Apparently everyone (or at least everyone there) knows how to dance to cumbia (except me, of course).

Hinds! Despite some technical difficulties, they started pretty much on time. And they are, of course, amazing. A little tiny pit formed for the last few songs near me, but not near enough for me to get pushed around. Darn.

Then I left before American Football and raced across town to catch Mountain Goats with Amy.

Goose Island 312 Block Party

I vaguely remember the opening bands being pretty good. Did I see them both, or just Beach Slang? Who knows!

The Aggrolites were great, but the crowd wasn't into them. The music between the Aggrolites and Against Me was the perfect punky reggae party. And, of course, Against Me killed it (helped by the fact that they played a Clash song - Train in Vain).

This was a great show - too bad I went by myself :(
