Jon Langford at UIC

You can see him waiting to play if you look closely...

Ok, this wasn't really a show.  He just played two songs at some guys retirement party.  I'm still counting it.

Jon Langford at Tata's Tacos

We went to see Langford play at a taco place.  And I ate ceviche, because it came with the app combo Amy ordered but she didn't like it.  It needed salt.

Langford covered Strummer's X-ray Style.  The title track from the Mescaleros' first record, but still kind of a 'deep cut.'  I smiled.

Peter and Beth were supposed to join us (actually, we were joining them), but they were both sick.  Booooo.

PRF BBQ at Township

Langford is awesome and hilarious.

I like Lonely Trailer even more now than when i watched them almost 30 years ago down in Champaign.

I think Champagne Jerry may have been a joke i didn't get.

I liked Body Futures and Goddard enough to order music (and a boss Goddard t-shirt) when i got home.

Tiny and i biked to Jeri's Grill (the place i thought was just called "Ham on the Bone" for the longest time) on the way home.  The waitress was nice and the hash-browns with giardiniera were excellent.  I bought a t-shirt.

Joe Strummer at Metro

I had been carrying around a big Strummer obsession for quite some time.  I finally got to see him here.  He opened with Diggin' the New (fittingly), but there was Clash stuff pretty generously strewn throughout.  The timpani (or whatever passed for them) were insane for Tony Adams.  A. Maz. Ing.

Jon Langford opened (with the Skull Orchard band/album).  This is where THAT obsession began.
